Music Made Us - Atlanta with Kai Alcé
Music Made Us—the new show from Wax Poetics and Sonos Radio—takes listeners on an 8-stop journey across the United States, exploring how music’s influence helped shape and build the unique character of each locale.
In the penultimate episode of the series we head to Atlanta with Kai Alcé. Kai moved to Atlanta for college in the early ‘90s and has never looked back, making it his home base and becoming a champion of the Atlanta scene. He brings with him a unique perspective on the music of Atlanta, having introduced and cultivated a new and different sound for the hip-hop and R&B-centric town: deep house. Kai talks us through his job at an influential record store and the parties he threw across the city, and finally drops an exclusive mix of some of his favorite Atlanta classics.
