Radio Hour with Bomba Estéreo

Almost two decades and seven albums into their career, Bomba Estéreo are bigger, and busier, than ever. The Colombian group’s most recent album Deja snagged a Grammy nomination; they just released a brand new song with the legendary Manu Chao; and, their track “Ojitos Lindos” with Bad Bunny is about to surpass a billion streams. Host Elia Einhorn recently spoke with Bomba Estéreo founder Simón Mejía about the influence of African heritage on Colombian music; his passion for social & environmental causes; the group’s recent high profile collaborations; and the benefits of staying out of the spotlight. Then, Simón spins a killer guest set featuring some of the African, Colombian, and Caribbean music that has informed Bomba Estereo’s sound.
