Radio Hour with Hurray for the Riff Raff

As Hurray for the Riff Raff, Alynda Segarra has traveled the world performing anthemic, story-driven music that draws from American folk traditions. For their just-released 8th album LIFE ON EARTH, they’ve expanded their sound, working with Waxahatchee and Bon Iver producer Brad Cook. The record is a powerful meditation on humanity’s fraught relationship with nature. Host Elia Einhorn recently spoke with Alynda about telling the truth as an artist, their lyrical imagery, self care, and “growing up with Puerto Rican witches.” Then, they spin a dope set of tracks from friends, neighbors, and inspirations.
