Radio Hour with keiyaA
After spending years as a session musician for Chicago luminaries like Noname, Chance The Rapper, and Vic Mensa, multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and producer keiyaA relocated to Brooklyn to work on her own music. Even as she was reeling in her personal life from a breakup, and couch-surfing with friends, her 2020 debut Forever, Ya Girl received unanimously rapturous praise, including co-signs from Solange and Jay-Z.
Host Elia Einhorn recently caught up with keiyaA to go deep on the influences that fuel her unique sonic palette, cutting her teeth in the Chicago Children’s Choir, and her aspirations for her forthcoming LP. Then, she spins a killer guest set featuring some of her favorite tracks that challenge the sonic norm.
