Colombian-Canadian artist Lido Pimienta crafts gorgeous, sophisticated pop with structures informed by the Afro-Latin and indigenous music she grew up with. With only three full-length releases to her name, she’s already amassed a career’s worth of critical acclaim: her 2017 LP La Papessa won her the prestigious Polaris music prize, and her phenomenal 2020 album, Miss Colombia was nominated for a Juno and two Grammys. Lido recently joined Host Elia Einhorn for a deep and wide-ranging conversation.
