Radio Hour with Soccor Mommy
Soccer Mommy is the moniker of 23 year-old songwriter Sophie Allison. The Nashville native recently released her sophomore record, Color Theory, to massive critical acclaim. Allison is known for her emotionally eviscerating lyrics and stunning pop melodies over 90s indie rock-indebted riffs, winning fans in fellow musicians like Kacey Musgraves. For this week’s Sonos Sound System Radio Hour, host Elia Einhorn and Soccer Mommy discuss the making of her new album—including the role of video games and “the chaotic thinking of a Gemini”—as well as what she learned from her past as an NYU student. She also DJs a playlist featuring tracks from Boards of Canada, Grimes, My Bloody Valentine, and BEAK>.
