Radio Hour with The Weather Station

"This week on Radio Hour Tamara Lindeman, who has been recording as The Weather Station for more than a decade, joins the show. She’s celebrating the release of her critically-acclaimed fifth LP, Ignorance, which just dropped in February. The album sees a big leap from the spare folk of her earlier material, incorporating orchestral flourishes, and backed by a propulsive rhythm section. Her lyrics tackle both the planetary- and the emotional- damage of climate change with a hushed devastation. On this episode she discusses her early years in rural Ontario, the influence of sprawling Canadian bands like Arcade Fire and Broken Social Scene on her musical development, and, of course, the making of her incredible new record."
